Concurso para Bolsa de Técnico de Investigação

Encontram-se abertos concursos para a atribuição de duas Bolsas de Técnico de Investigação no âmbito do projecto BioVisualSpeech financiado por fundos nacionais através da Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT)/MCTES (PIDDAC) nas seguintes condições:

1. Objectivos e Plano de trabalhos: Os bolseiros irão colaborar, durante o período de vigência da Bolsa, no tratamento de dados, nomeadamente no processamento e anotação manual de áudio (voz) gravado em escolas portuguesas.

2. Requisitos de admissão: 12º ano. Língua materna: português europeu. Curso superior numa das seguintes áreas será factor preferencial: Engenharia, Terapia da Fala, ou Línguas.

3. Local de trabalho: O trabalho será desenvolvido num dos seguintes locais:

  • VoiceInteraction, Lisboa,
  • NOVA LINCS/Dep. de Informática, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa,
  • L2F, Laboratório de Sistemas de Língua Falada, INESC-ID Lisboa.

4. Duração da bolsa: A bolsa terá a duração de 6 meses, com início previsto em julho de 2018. O contrato de bolsa poderá ser eventualmente renovado dentro da vigência do projecto.

5. Valor do subsídio de manutenção mensal: O montante da bolsa corresponde a 565€, conforme tabela de valores das bolsas atribuídas directamente pela FCT, I.P. no País.

6. Prazo de candidatura e forma de apresentação das candidaturas: Aceitam-se candidaturas até dia 6 de Julho de 2018. As candidaturas devem ser formalizadas, obrigatoriamente, através do envio de carta de candidatura acompanhada dos seguintes documentos:

  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Cópia dos certificados de habilitações;
  • Lista detalhada de classificações obtidas;
  • Contactos de duas referências;
  • Outros documentos comprovativos considerados relevantes.
As candidaturas deverão ser enviadas por email para os endereços scavaco@fct.unl.pt e alberto.abad@inesc-id.pt, indicando no assunto "Candidatura - Bolsa Tecnico de Investigação".

7. Legislação e regulamentação aplicável: Lei Nº. 40/2004, de 18 de Agosto, alterado e republicado pelo Decreto-lei Nº 202/2012 de 27 de Agosto (Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica) e alterado pelo Decreto-Lei nº 233/2012 de 29 de Outubro e pela Lei nº12/2013 de 29 de Janeiro; Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da FCT, I.P. em vigor e Regulamento de Bolsas do INESC aprovado pela FCT.

European Congress of Speech and Language Therapy, May 2018

The BioVisualSpeech FCT.UNL and ESSA team members participated in the 10th CPLOL Congress (European Congress of Speech and Language Therapy), Estoril, Portugal. The ESSA team was also in the congress Scientific Committee.

EXPO FCT

EXPO FCT is an open house day at FCT/UNL in which high school students from all over the country come to visit the university. Each department offers a set of activities, which consist of demonstrations of the work developed at the university.

  • 2018 - The VisualSpeech Sibilants Game was demonstrated at the Dep. of Computer Science, 11/April/2018.
  • 2017 - The VisualSpeech Sustained Phoneme Game was one of the activities offered at the Dep. of Computer Science.
  • 2014 - The VisualSpeech interactive environment was demonstrated at the Dep. of Computer Science.

    The BioVisualSpeech participated in Futurália, Feira de Educação, Formação e Orientação Educativa, at FIL, Lisboa. Futulália is the biggest exhibition of education and higher education in Portugal.

    The BioVisualSpeech team participated in the event with a presentation, participation in panel IV - Humans and Machines, a demonstration of the Sustained Phoneme Game, and three posters:

    Marta Lopes work "A voice-controlled serious game for the sustained vowel exercise" received the Best Poster Award at the International Conference on Advances in Computer Entertainment Technology, Osaka, Japan.


    iTF - 3rd Speech Therapy Symposium/III Simpósio de Terapia da Fala, Nov 2016

    The team members Margarida Grilo and Isabel Guimarães were part of the organizing committee for the 3rd Speech Therapy Symposium, with the theme "The new technologies in speech therapy". The symposium's goal was to discuss the impact of the technologic evolution in therapy intervention and future diagnosis.

    The following presentations and demonstrations were given by the team members Carla Viegas, Marta Lopes and Ivo Anjos:

    • Carla Viegas presented "Intelligent personal assistantes: How na IPA could improve your workflow as a speech therapist".
    • Marta Lopes presented "A voice-controlled serious game for the sustained vowel exercise" and demonstrated her work at the TECH Market show.
    • Ivo Anjos demonstrated his work on "Intensive therapy: games for training fricative consonants at home" at the TECH Market show.

    World Student Meeting on Speech and Language Therapy, 6-8 July 2015

    Three team members, João Magalhães, Mariana Diogo and Ricardo Carrapiço participated in the World Student Meeting on Speech and Language Therapy, Leiria, Portugal, 6-8 July 2015. The two following presentations were given:

  • Mariana Diogo presented "An interactive computer environment to motivate children in speech and language therapy" by A. Grossinho, M. Diogo, J. Magalhães, S. Cavaco.
  • Ricardo Carrapiço presented "Enabling Non-intrusive Facial-Anthropometry in Speech Language Therapy" by R. Carrapiço, M. Grilo, I. Guimarães, S. Cavaco, J. Magalhães.

    Festival IN is the main event on innovation and creativity that takes place in the Iberian Peninsula. VisualSpeech was one of the few projects selected to represent Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT/UNL).
